A Note on Shipping Costs

To everyone who has ordered from this store over the years,

I want to talk to you directly about something rather than just quietly changing a number on the checkout page.

Since the day my online store opened, keeping shipping as low as possible has been a priority. Every rate increase the USPS has handed down over the past few years, I've absorbed on my end rather than pass it on to you. That was a choice I made on purpose, because I didn't want shipping cost to be the reason someone passed on a piece they actually wanted.

But the USPS has raised prices repeatedly and aggressively this year alone, and the math no longer works. Continuing to eat those costs would mean cutting into margins that are already thin, and that's not sustainable for a small shop like this one, as I don't have the volume to absorb it like the big guys do.

I'm not taking this lightly, and I'm not thrilled about it either. This isn't a decision made to pad margins. It's a decision made to protect them, and to make sure this store can keep operating the way you've come to expect from it. Two dollars isn't nothing, and I get that. I wanted this new number to be fair, not padded, and to reflect what it actually costs to get a package to your door right now.
